Xcel Rhythmic Gymnastics Team
Rhythmic Xcel is a competitive program that allows children to compete with less training time and experience, allowing them to have more time for activities outside of gymnastics. This is a wonderful program that allows girls to have the opportunity to perform and receive feedback on the apparatus and body skills they have learned.
There are five levels of this program, Bronze through Diamond. Levels Bronze and Silver are for athletes who are just beginning to perform, while levels Gold, Diamond, and Platinum are for seasoned competitors.
There are no assigned routines for each level and gymnasts can perform up to three individual routines at competition. Our girls typically perform a floor routine and one or two apparatus routines (ball, hoop, rope, clubs, etc.) Gymnasts are judged on their individual skills and can receive a maximum score of 100 points on a routine.
At Prima, we require athletes to attend one year of recreational classes before joining the Xcel team. Exceptions may be made for those who have performed in a related sport. Our Xcel gymnasts practice 4 to 6 hours per week depending on age and level. Please fill out a form on our website if you are interested in scheduling an Xcel team evaluation or contact us to receive more information.
